Getting Started
The basics before you start a session.
What is Canna Blitz?+
Canna Blitz is a free browser strategy card game about territory control on a 3 by 3 board. Use Strain cards, Events, and online Instants to claim and defend territories. The fastest route in is the how-to-play guide.
How many players can play?+
Canna Blitz supports 2 to 4 players. You can play local hot-seat, solo against AI slots, or online with friends from the play screen.
Do I need an account?+
No account is required to start playing. The game is designed to be quick to enter in your browser with no download.
What devices does it work on?+
Canna Blitz runs in modern desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers. A larger screen is best for reading the board and card details, but mobile play is supported.
Rules
Common turn, combat, and win-condition questions.
How do I win?+
Control the most territories when the deck runs out. After the final card is drawn, everyone gets one final complete turn, then territories are counted. Control all 9 territories at once and you win immediately. The full breakdown is in victory conditions.
What happens when the deck runs out?+
The player who draws the final card triggers the final round. Each player gets one more complete turn, then the game counts territories and bonus victory points.
Do I have to take an action every turn?+
Yes. During your Action Phase you claim, attack, play an Event, or skip by discarding one card. Skipping is not free.
Can I attack on my first turn?+
You can, but it is usually better to claim empty territories first. You start with only 3 cards, so an early failed attack can leave you short on options.
What happens on an exact combat tie?+
If Attack and Defense tie exactly, both players roll 0 to 100. The higher roll wins. If the dice also tie, both cards discard and the territory becomes empty.
Cards
Strains, Events, Instants, and where to find the card reference.
What are Strain cards?+
Strain cards are combat cards with Attack and Defense stats. You play them to claim empty territories, reinforce holdings, or attack an opponent. Browse the current list in the card library.
What is the difference between Strains, Events, and Instants?+
Strains are combat cards. Events are one-shot board effects played on your turn. Instants are real-time response cards used during interrupt windows in online play. The card library explains what each type is for.
Do Instants work in local mode?+
No. Instants rely on real-time interrupt windows, so they are available in online mode and are not part of the local deck.
Can I play multiple Instants in one window?+
Yes. You can play multiple Instants in one interrupt window. The newest Instant resolves first.
Local vs Online
Which mode to choose and what changes between them.
What is local play?+
Local play is hot-seat play on one device. It is best for quick games, testing rules, and playing against local AI slots. Start from local play.
What is online play?+
Online play lets you create or join a room and play with friends in real time. Online mode adds Instants and interrupt windows. Start from online play.
How do interrupt windows work?+
After an online action, an interrupt window opens so players can respond with Instant cards. When players pass or the timer expires, the action resolves.
Can I surrender?+
Yes. You can surrender from the in-game menu. In online games this ends or removes you from the current game depending on the match setup.
Troubleshooting
Fast fixes for common browser and room issues.
My online room or invite is not working. What should I try?+
Check that the room code was copied correctly, refresh the page, and try creating a new room if the old session is stale. If the online screen shows a stuck session message, use the clear session option shown there.
The game looks cramped on mobile. What can I do?+
Use landscape orientation, close browser UI where possible, and keep card detail panels closed when reading the board.
The game froze or lost connection. What should I do?+
Refresh the page first. Online games attempt to reload the latest state, but a long disconnection may require joining or creating a room again.

Does Canna Blitz sell cannabis or cannabis products?+

The game has a cannabis theme and strain names. Players, parents, schools, and workplaces should use their own judgment before playing or sharing it.
